Given the favorable conditions at the global commodities markets and the national economy performance in Q1 2011, the Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Economic Development and Trade regards it feasible for the national economy to reach 7% growth. “More active lending should play a substantial role in raising the nation’s business activity. The National Bank and the Finance Ministry should accelerate implementation of the program to ensure post-crisis restoration of competitive enterprises”, Profinance.kz quoted Kairat Kelimbetov, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Economic Development and Trade, as saying. According to Mr. Kelimbetov, another task of the Government is to ensure price stability within the domestic markets. When speaking at the Government’s sitting today, April 26, he noted that unemployment in the Q 1 2011 stood at 5.5%. As of April 1, the number of small and middle-sized businesses totaled 663 500, 5% up against the like period of 2010. 2.4 million people are employed in this sector.
