200 tones of vegetables have been delivered to Almaty from the biggest greenhouse in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports citing KazAgro company’s press-service. The company is planning to cut shortage of vegetables during off-season time by almost 50% through such greenhouse projects. 85% of the funding for the 2.3 billion tenge ($15.5 million) greenhouse project was provided by KazAgroFinance, KazAgro's affiliated company. The areas of the greenhouse built based on a Dutch technology makes 5.1 hectares (51 thousand square meters). The greenhouse capacity is 4000 tones of vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce and other vegetables) a year. KazAgro company also supports construction of mini greenhouses via its affiliated companies: the Financial Agricultural Support Fund and Agricultural Credit Corporation. These companies have already provided loans to 29 greenhouses with a total capacity of 36.4 thousand tones of vegetables.
