A man has drowned while rescuing his drowning daughter in the Ural River, Atyrau Oblast, western Kazakhstan on August 20 , Tengrinews reports citing Ak Zhayik newspaper.


A man has drowned while rescuing his drowning daughter in the Ural River, Atyrau Oblast, western Kazakhstan on August 20 , Tengrinews reports citing Ak Zhayik newspaper.

The incident occurred at around 14.00 p.m. on August 20 in Almaly village of Makhamber district, Atyrau oblast.

Two families came to a coastal riparian forest to enjoy a picnic. 19-y.o. girl went swimming and after some time she cried out for help. Her father jumped into the water, pushed her out of the water, but drowned himself.

People noticed an end of a fishnet tied to the river’s shore nearby. When they pulled the fishing tackle out, they found the man's body in it.
