Helicopter Eurocopter EC 130 has fallen during take off in Zhambyl Oblast, Tengrinews reports citing the press service of the Department of Emergency Situations of Zhambyl Oblast.
Eurocopter EC130 is a single engine light helicopter developed from the AS350 Ecureuil by Airbus Helicopters.
The incident occurred in the town of Karatau Talas District on 27 February at 12:05. "The message from Kazaeronavigation (state enterprise of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport and Communications responsible for civil air navigation of Kazakhstan's airspace) was received by the duty officer of the Emergency Situations Department at 12:20," the Department informed.
"The helicopter was taking off from the site near the plant producing sodium cyanide TalasInvestmentCompany. The vehicle gained some altitude, and then dropped back on the ground onto the same spot. The crew commander was alone in the helicopter, no passengers were on board. No one was injured," it continued.
TalasInvestmentCompany specializes on producing nitrogen-containing compounds.
According to preliminary data, the cause of the helicopter crash was a failure of the directional control of the machine. 16 people and five vehicles representing the task forces of the Emergency Situations Department, Fire Service and Talas District police were dispatched to the site.
