Elite residential buildings and palaces of Astana were left without water because of a pipeline damage, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Emergency Situations Ministry. According to the authority, the waterline was damaged because the pipeline was overly worn. The pipeline got raptured at around 4:00 p.m. on January 4. Residents of Grant Astana, Highwill, French Quarter, Skazochnyi Mir, Abylaikhan residential complexes, as well as the Palace of Peace and Accord (Norman Foster's Pyramid), Palace of Independence and Shabyt Palace of Art were left without water. 12 people and 4 vehicles are involved in elimination of the emergency situation. A 400mm damage of a waterline has also been registered at the crossing of Tauelsyzdyk and Khadzhimukan streets. Residents of three buildings were left without water, too.
