265 thousand first graders to hit schools September 1 in Kazakhstan

More than 260 thousand children will go to the 1st grade at schools throughout Kazakhstan on September 1, 2013, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing the Facebook page of Kazakhstan's Vice-Minister of Education and Science Murat Abenov. "This year Kazakhstan schools will welcome a total of 2.5 million students, including 265 thousand new first grade students and 169 thousand students in their last year of high school," Abenov posted. He also reported that 292 thousand teachers will be teaching the students at schools: 108 thousand teachers in city schools and 184 thousand teachers in village schools. "It is planned to recruit 9645 young school teachers in 2013," Vice-Minister said.
