Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry is checking the citizenship of the two aledgely Kazakh citizens arrested in the U.S. for credit card fraud, press-secretary of the Ministry Ilyas Omarov told Tengrinews.kz. According to him, the information has not yet been confirmed and it is necessary to see whether these are Kazakhstan citizens indeed. “As far as I know, nobody applied to our embassy yet,” Omarov said. However, the press-secretary noted that the charges are quite serious, that’s why it is necessary to check everything in details. On January 11 foreign media published information on the arrest of two Kazakhstan citizens in suspicion of credit cards fraud. Police of Panama City Beach initiated the investigation on December 29, 2011 after a woman applied to the police after discovering that her credit card was used by some criminals. The search showed that the credit card was used to buy several goods. They were delivered to the apartment of Kazakhstan citizens Kamal Zhetpispayev and Grigoriy Zossim, both 22.
