Kazakhstan businessman invested $13 million in Russian Internet

Russian investment company Fastlane Ventures announced attraction of $13 million from Kazakhstan businessman Kenes Rakishev, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the company’s Corporate Communications Director Marina Glushkova. “Internet is currently one of the most perspective sectors of Russian economy and Fastlane Ventures is a leading player of the online-industry. The company’s team is made of top-ranking experts who have already achieved success in the business. I am sure that Fastlane Ventures will be able to transform the existing opportunities and ideas into successful online businesses,” Rakishev said. Rakishev’s investments will enhance Fastlane Ventures positions in the Russian Internet market, help launch new online business projects in 2013, increase growth and development of the existing portfolio companies of Fastlane Ventures and test the selected business models. Kenes Rakishev will become a member of the board of Fastlane Ventures along with VTB Capital and Direct Group and e.ventures. According to Forbes magazine, Rakishev was tagged one of the top 50 most powerful people of Kazakhstan. The businessman is a board member of several major companies, including SAT & Company industrial holding and Net Element company. Earlier he invested $20 million in Israeli competitor of Instagram, Mobli.
