Steven Seagal will visit the Second Annual Astana Action International Film Festival. The names of Hollywood, Kazakhstan and Russian stars expected to come to Astana on July 1-5 were unveiled on June 22, Tengrinews.kz reports. Hollywood celebrities include Vice-President of Lionsgate Entertainment Corporation Lisa Elsey, legendary Armand Assante who played the main role in The Odissey, Michael Madsen who played in Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill and Sin City, Michelle Rodriguez famous for acting in Lost and Avatar, and an outstanding action actor Steven Seagal. Russian celebrities arriving in Astana include Sergei Svetlakov, Gosha Kutsenko, Yevgeniy Stychkin, Olga Sutulova, Egor Konchalovsky, Yekaterina Strizhenova, Viktor Verzhbitsky, Nikolay Valuyev, Dmitry Nagiyev, Nataliya Guslistaya, Renat Davletyarov. Russian actor Marat Basharov will host the opening ceremony. Kazakhstan actors will include Doskhan Zholzhaksynov, Venera Nigmatulina, Erik Zholzhaksynov, Farkhat Abdraimov, Assel Sagatova, Amir Karakulov, Karlygash Mukhametzhanova, Akhan Satayev, Igor Vovnyanko, Ardak Amirkulov, Asanali Ashimov. Director General of the Festival Iren Vanidovskaya said that there were changes made to the Festival's program. “This year we changed the program and added a new block of action comedies, showing that action genre does not only include action movies and thrillers, but also comedies,” she said. “Tough” block will include horror and psychological movies. The program will be opened by the first Kazakhstan 3D movie called Return to A by Egor Konchalovsky. The festival will be closed with the movie Bad Teacher, a comedy with Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake. This year the program also includes presentation of Bazelevs company, presentation of Kazakhstan projects, roundtable meeting called Cinema and Development of the State Language 2012, as well as screenplay competition. The winners of the competition's semi-finals are Bahtiyor Kadirov – «Beyond one Day», Galiya Baizhanova – «While Everybody at home», Rustam Mukhit – «Crossing the line», Vitaliy Kistanov – «Day of the Contract», Yerzhan Yessimkhanov – «Territory 17». As per organizers, any person will be able to take photos with starts and get their autographs. Tickets to the movies' first nights on July 2-4 will be sold starting from June 25. Their cost will start at 500 tenge ($3). The total of 21 movies is scheduled to be shown during the festival. All money received from the tickets sales will be transfered for charity. The cost of the festival is kept secret, but it is known that 150 million tenge ($1 million) were spent for the festival last year. By Maksim Popov
