The drama of Kazakh film director Akan Satayev Zhauzhurek Myn Bala (1000 Brave Boys) (aka Brave) has been released on DVD in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports. The DVD disk is bilingual – in Russian and Kazakh languages. "The first issue of the movie has made five thousand copies. We will be relying on the sales dynamic in terms of our further issues. If they sell out well we will increase the number of copies," Managing Director for Development at Kazakhfilm (Kazakhstan national film-making company) Iliiyas Akhmet said. "Screenings of Myn Bala film in Kazakhstan cinemas are finishing now. It has already been aired on one of the TV channels recently. But not everyone has had a chance to watch the movie. So now they can buy a DVD and watch it," actor Assylkhan Tolepov, who played the leading role, Sartay, in the film, said. Ayan Utepbergenov (Taimas), Aliya Anuarbek (Zere) and Kuralay Anarbekova (Korlan) took part in the presentation too. They gave the first batch of the DVD disks to the children from the Orphanage #1. Liquidator, another creation of Satayev, has been the best selling Kazakhstan-made movie on DVD so far, according to Kazakhfilm: 4,550 disks have been sold. Myn Bala movie has been released in Kazakhstan May 3, 2012. The film became one of the box office leaders after its two first weekends collected about $2 million. It was screened during this year's Cannes Festival on May 17, 2012 in France. International distribution rights were bought by Canadian 108 Media.
