Kazakh oboe player Kamilla Bisengaliyeva has been invited to become part of one of the most popular British symphony orchestras, Tengrinews reports citing Khabar TV channel.

The Kazakh musician was invited to become the second oboe in the Orchestra of Opera North based in Leeds, north of the United Kingdom. “Yes, it was hard. I went to Manchester for auditions. I had to practice a lot. We have a strong school. I know (Kazakh) musicians who work in London, Germany, Switzerland,” she said.

Kamilla graduated from Almaty-based music school for gifted children named after Kulyash Baiseitova and later continued her studies in Leeds College of Music in the UK. She is a niece of world famous violinist from Kazakhstan Marat Bisengaliyev, who is now a director of the Symphony Orchestra of India.

“I know that Kazakhstan does a lot to develop music and arts. A new opera house was opened. Many (Kazakh) troupes are touring the world. The artists have exceptional skills. Kamilla is a proof of that,” Music director of Opera North Richard Farnes said.

The Opera North is well-known for its opera productions and musical performances as it tours not only throughout the UK, but also visits world-renowned opera houses and performs at major international festivals. Opera North's team comprises musicians from all over the world, but Kamilla is the first musician from Kazakhstan.
