European Film Week to be held in Almaty

European Film Week will be held in Almaty on May 12-19, Tengrinews.kz reports. Movies from ten European countries (Turkey, UK, Latvia, Hungary, Italy, Germany, Sweden, France and Poland) will be screened as part of the Festival. Swiss-made comedy Madly in Love will open the event. A majority of the Festival’s movies are dramas. The most renowned ones are Italian Dry Land (Terraferma) and Swedish The Crown Jewels (Kronjuvelerna). All the movies will be screened in their original languages with Russian subtitles except for Latvia’s criminal drama People Out There that was shot in Russian. The European Film Week will be held at Caesar cinema (#50 Furmanov Str., corner of Gogol Str.). One ticket will cost 300 tenge ($2). Schedule of the movies: May, 12, 6 p.m. Madly in Love (Switzerland); May 13, 7 p.m. Love Likes Coincidences (Turkey); May 14, 7 p.m. Pál Adrienn (Hungary); May 15 7 p.m. Submarine (UK); May 16, 7 p.m. Goethe! (Germany); May 17, 7 p.m. The First Day of the Rest of Your Life (France); May 18, 4 p.m. Blind Date (Poland); May 18, 6 p.m. The Crown Jewels (Sweden); May 19, 4 p.m. Dry Land (Italy); May 19, 6 p.m. People Out There (Latvia).
