The agreement is to be signed at the sitting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Union with Kyrgyzstan President Almazbek Atambayev among those in attendance.
In winter Kyrgyzstan used to rely on its own power capacities, however this year Kyrgyzstan is facing an unprecedented shortage of power. The estimated shortage this coming winter stands at around 2 billion kilowatt-hours.
Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan signed an agreement to launch the Eurasian Economic Union May 29, 2014 in Astana, Kazakhstan’s capital city. The Union comes into force January 1, 2015.
