Kazakhstan ranked 23rd in Innsbruck

First Youth Olympics finished in Innsbruck, Austria on January 22. Kazakhstan sportsmen took part in the tournaments. They were ranked 23rd by the overall score with one silver and two bronze medals, Khabar channel reports. Biathlete Galina Vishnevskaya won silver and bronze, skier Sergey Malyshev won another bronze medal. 36 Kazakhstan sportsmen took part in the tournament. Winter Youth Olympics was held in the capital of Tirol between January 13 and January 22. 70 countries were represented at the games. German sportsmen won the most number of medals (8 gold, 7 silver and 2 bronze). China (7, 4, 4) and Austria (6, 4, 3) were second and third. South Korea (6, 3, 2) and Russia (5, 4, 7) were fourth and fifth. The next winter Olympics for sportsmen aged from 14 to 18 will be held in 2016 in Lillehammer, Norway.
