Alexandre Vinokourov will auction out his Olympic-winning bicycle in less than a month, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Vesti.kz. “I’d like to arrange a sort of a farewell ceremony in Astana or Almaty. Maybe it will be timed to my birthday that is on September 16. I hope to arrange sometime around this date, but I can’t give you the exact day yet,” Vinokourov said. He also added that he was going to pass his second bicycle to a museum. “I’ve got one more bicycle – a gold-colored one. It was made for me specially for my last San Sebastian race and it is golden like a gold medal. This bicycle is beautiful and I think I will exhibit it in a museum,” the cyclist added.
