The WSB Champions Astana Arlans are facing the Mexico Guerreros -- who had an unfortunate start of the 4th WSB Season -- in Almaty, Kazakhstan on December 6, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz. In their 3rd fight of the season, the Kazakhstan Wolves are bringing out Mardan Berikbayev (-49kg), Meribolat Toitov (-56kg), Zhanibek Azhibai (-64kg), Sergei Derevyanchenko (-75kg) and Vasili Levitt (-91kg). The Astana Arlans decided to play it safe by selecting a more or less experienced team against the Mexican Warriors. The Mexicans, whose resolve seemingly shattered in the fight against Baku Fires, put their stakes on the underdogs. This time they are bringing 4 WSB debutants and 1 experienced southpaw Albanian boxer. The WSB debutants, Mardan Berikbayev, 23 and Jose Alberto Zaleta Reyes, 19, are facing each other in the light flyweight (-49kg) category. This season, the Alpha Wolves have not yet won in the light flyweight category. In Bantamweight (-56kg) Meirbolat Toitov, 23 will fight against Sergio Chirino Sanchez, a 19 y.o. Mexican debutant. The southpaw Arlan has 2 wins on points (WP) in his record and 1 loss. The new Mexican Warrior will have to prove his worth against the more experienced Kazakh Wolf. In the 3rd season, Toitov won over experienced Mexican Emigdio Elias who had 13 WP and 1 TKO in his record. Another debutant pair is coming to the ring in the light welterweight category (-64kg): Arlan’s new boy Zhanibek Azhibai, 20 and Christian Bielma, 20 from the Mexico Guerreros. It is impossible to predict what the debutant fights will be like. But one thing is certain, these are not going to be boring bouts. The reliable ace from the Astana Arlans, the Ukrainian middleweight (-75kg) Sergei Derevyanchenko will face WSB debutant Diego de Jesus Moreno Amador. Orthodox Derevyanchenko has 19 wins with 14 WP and 5 TKO. The first bout in WSB is surely going to be a rough one for Moreno Amador. In the heavyweight category (+91), the Alpha Wolves’ Vasili Levitt, 25 will fight against the four time National Champion, Albanian Christian Demaj, 22. It is the first season in WSB for Levitt but he has already proven himself to be a worthy Arlan in the bout against Abdulkadir Abdullayev from the Baku Fires. The southpaw Demaj on other hand does not have a good WSB record, as he lost in all of his 3 bouts. On December 6, we will witness whose strategy was the right one: the Head Coach of the Arlans' Sergei Korchinsky’s stakes on reliable fighters or the Head Coach of the Mexican team Francisco Bonilla’s bet on the underdog debutants. “The battered and bruised Guerreros team, who have failed to win a single bout so far this season will be taking on fellow basement boys the Hussars Poland, with both sides urgently needing to get their campaigns underway,” said a WSB reporter after the Mexican team lost to Azeri “Bad Boys” 0:5. The Astana Arlans are certainly serious about winning the 4th Season. The Arlans won the Russians 3:2 and the Azeri 4:1. The Astana Arlans fight against the Mexico Guerreros will take place on December 6 at Baluan Sholak Sports Palace at #44Abai Av. (at the crossing with Baitursynov Str.) The beginning is at 7:30 p.m. The tickets range from 1000 ($7) to 5000 tenge ($33) and can be bought at Meloman Stores and online at ticketon.kz.
