Trips to craters located close to Ust-Kamenogorsk are becoming popular with foreign tourists, KazTAG reports citing geologist Viktor Kuznetsov. “Their (craters) size does not exceed 15 km. They are called Aiyrtau, Dresnyavsky, Orlovsky and Chasha which corresponds to the names of the most famous mountain groups, villages and river systems inside the craters. They all have a distinctive round shape,” he said. According to Kuznetsov “Rudny Altai area still has the original relief, similar to the one on the Moon or Mars. But to visit the impact crater one doesn't need a space ship.” “In some of the craters remains of asteroids or something related to ufology can still be found,” he added.
