A Kissing Marathon will be held in Astana in anticafe Nashe Mesto (Our Place) on July 13, Tengrinews.kz. The kissing couples will change every 2-3 hours during several days. The duration of kisses will depend on the number of participants. Organizers are waiting for the applications from those wishing to take part in the Marathon. “At first we were thinking about breaking the Guinness Book record. Then we realized that our couples are not ready for 48-hour-long kisses,” Yerbol Kushugulov, the organizer of the event, said. The participants will be awarded with Diplomas on completion of the Marathon. The organizers are planning to open the first Monument to Kissing next to the anticafe by August 2012. At present they are choosing the concept and design of the monument with sculptors. The team that is arranging the marathon now are the authors of the comic monument to a comic Russian rhyming phrase about Kazakhstan's Karaganda “Gde-gde? V Karagande!” (“Where-where? In Karaganda!”
