Almost one million people gathered in Astana to celebrate the Capital Day this year, Tengrinews reports citing Novosti-Kazakhstan.
“The celebration of the Capital Day became a truly large-scale event. 20 thousand people were involved in preparing more than 70 events. During several days of celebrations 30 holiday venues and festive sites in Astana city were visited by over 900 thousand people. 3.5 thousand local and foreign artists performed at concerts in Astana,” the official website of the capital reported.
This year's fireworks were shot simultaneously from three locations in the city. Besides, they were accompanied by special effects on the Yesil river surface. Over 20 pyrotechnicians worked on the colorful event that included around 5 thousand salvos.
The celebration of the Capital Day was a great holiday break for Kazakhstanis. Those who were not in Astana, were still able to enjoy days off from work.
