The author of Kazakhstan’s coat of arms, research fellow of Gumilyov National University Zhandarbek Malibekov, has developed a design for the international exhibition EXPO-2017, Tengrinews.kz reports. The complex is called Nuraspan. Use of Kazakhstan national elements and forms is was differs it from all the other works presented for the competition. The author of the best design will receive $150 thousand. The designs were exhibited in Korme exhibition hall in Astana on August 14-16. The building is 560 meters tall. According to the University’s press-service, this number was chosen for a purpose as the EXPO-2017 will take place on the year of the 560th anniversary of creation of Kazakh Khanate. Besides, a stela of such height has never been erected at a EXPO exhibition facility before. “Nuraspan complex symbolizes friendship of Kazakhstan people,” the author said. The lower part of the complex has symbolic sculptures at four sides of the platform. Equipment for generation of solar and wind energy, as well as telecommunications, metrology and air navigation equipment is installed in the upper part of the building. Besides, the author of the design is confident that the complex is also a good place for a mall, parking, etc. The winners of the contest will be announced in one month.
