President Nazarbayev said that Ukraine would benefit from cooperation with Russian and Kazakhstan amid any scenario, Tengrinews reports from Moscow.
“In any case, Ukraine would always benefit from cooperation with Kazakhstan, Russia and other CIS (post Soviet) countries. We have to remember it and we should not, so to speak, be hasty with our political relations and judgments,” Nazarbayev said in his speech at Moscow State University.
Commenting on the prerequisites of the Ukrainian crisis, the President of Kazakhstan noted that during two decades of the independence, the government of Ukraine did not work for the benefit of the economy and wellbeing of people, but was absorbed in politics.
“I believe that it is the main reason of the Ukrainian crisis. Ukraine was the second largest economy of the Soviet Union, but now its economy is 35% smaller than Kazakhstan’s economy. We sincerely wish our brotherly nation of Ukraine to recover as soon as possible and regain stability, unity and peace,” Nazarbayev concluded.
