Kazakhstan’s General Prosecutor Askhat Daulbayev had a negotiation with UAE Justice Minister Hadef Juan Al Zahiri during his visit to the UAE, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of Kazakhstan General Prosecutor’s office. The talks covered prospects of cooperation in implementation of the bilateral agreements on extradition of criminals and rendering legal support on criminal cases, as well as agreements on protection of the rights of Kazakhstan citizens abroad. “One of the main subjects of the meeting was in discussion of extradition of Kazakhstan citizens hiding at the territory of UAE wanted by Kazakhstan law-enforcement authorities for committing grave crimes,” the message states. UAE Justice Minister expressed readiness to cooperate in extradition of the criminals and assured that all the necessary measures will be taken to ensure fast and successful review of all Kazakhstan’s requests on extradition of wanted criminals. The meeting of the work group was also involved state authorities of the UAE. Kazakhstan was represented by the General Prosecutor’s office, Agency for Countering Economic and Corruption Crime, Interior Ministry, Interpol’s National Central Bureau and Foreign Ministry. The meeting resulted in approval of procedures of reviewing requests on extradition of criminals. “Upon agreement of the parties such meetings of the work groups will be held on a regular basis until all such persons hiding at the territory of the UAE are extradited to Kazakhstan,” the press-service writes. UAE Justice Minister supported Daulbayev’s suggestion on accelerated procedure of deportation of the persons wanted for commitment of heavy crimes, especially terrorism and organized crime. “To protect the rights of our citizens abroad, General Prosecutor has initiated extradition of Kazakhstan citizen Emilia Beissembayevs serving a sentence in the UAE,” the message states.
