Serikbay Trumov has been appointed the new Akim (Mayor) of Aktau in western Kazakhstan.

Serikbay Trumov has been appointed the new Akim (Mayor) of Aktau, Tengrinews reports citing Lada.kz.

Trumov replaced Yedil Zhanbyrshyn in the position. Zhanbyrshyn resigned after working as the Akim since 2012. Yelubay Abilov was appointed Akim of Zhanaozen town also in western Kazakhstan, Tumba.kz reports.

The new Akim was introduced by the Governor of Mangistau Oblast Alik Aidarbayev.

Before getting the appointment, Trumov worked as Akim of Zhanaozen. He began his career in 1981 as an ordinary concrete worker at MangyshlakSelStroi-12. Later, he worked in Tupkaragan District. In 2006-2008 Trumov was Deputy Akim of Mangystau Oblast. Trumov is married and has 5 children.
