Nursultan Nazarbayev has called the officials to stop refer to the Strategy-2050 to frequently, Tengrinews.kz reports from the meeting dedicated to summarizing results of 2012 and specifying the course of implementation of the Strategy-2050. “Strategy-2050 is a strategy. Don’t mess it up with something else and don’t refer to 2050 in every sentence. This is the strategy that outlines the direction for us and our future generation. You don't have to mention it all the time,” the President told the Cabinet. The President pointed out that Kazakhstan’s performance in 2012 was a normal one. “The world is ridden by the crisis and there is still no end to it in sight. The forecasts are not good and the 5-percent (GDP) growth and our achievements look quite well amid these conditions,” Nazarbayev said, but warned the government and regional officials against relaxing. “There is no time to relax, amid everything happening in the world we should hurry. The global economy will have an effect on us. All-around pragmatism is our main principle. All the coming decisions should be made with due consideration of profitability, investments return, competitiveness and observance of our country's long-term interests. Remember this. That is what we will be looking at: not growth of abstract numbers in economic statistics, but real improvements in ever city, region and village. This is our task not only for the central government, but for all the Akims of all levels,” the President said. By Renat Tashkinbayev
