Nazarbayev reminded Iranian Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan's position on international issues

Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev met with Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Nursultan Nazarbayev's press-service. "We see today a certain instability in the region. The situation in Afghanistan and Syria is becoming more and more unpredictable. Kazakhstan rendered support to Iran consistently and at all levels and also called for diplomatic settlement of all the international issues of different areas," press-service cites Nursultan Nazarbayev. The President also mentioned Kazakhstan's readiness to step up trade and economic cooperation. According to him, the current volume of the trade turnover between Astana and Teheran stands at around $1 billion, which does not fully reflect the potential and capacities of both countries. Ali Akbar Salehi noted that President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad deeply respected Nursultan Nazarbayev as an outstanding politician at the international scene.
