Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev has met with representatives of Turkish business rounds during his official visit to Turkey, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the President’s official website. During the meeting Nazarbayev pointed out that Turkey was one of the leading trade partners of Kazakhstan. The commodities turnover between the two countries has increased significantly in recent years, the volumes of mutual investments keep rising. Major joint projects are being implemented in different sectors of the economy. The President stressed that accelerated diversification and modernization of Kazakhstan’s economy is the priority task. The first 5-year stage of the State Program of Industrial-Innovative Development is being implemented since 2010. Its main priorities include creation of conditions for attraction of investments, new technologies and development of Kazakhstan's human potential. The project on restoration of the Great Silk Way is one of the important initiatives. Nazarbayev noted that Kazakhstan created a full range of investment support and helped in implementation of the projects in priority economy sectors. Kazakhstan President’s visit included signing of a range of bilateral documents, such as a joint statement on the results on the first meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council, New Synergy joint economic program for 2012-2015 covering interaction in trade and investments. A memorandum of understanding was also signed by public services of Kazakhstan and Turkey.
