Belarus President Aleksander Lukashenko is expected to attend the meeting of the Higher Eurasian Economic Council of CES (Common Economic Space) in Astana in the end of May, Tengrinews.kz reports from Minsk. "I met with Nursultan Nazarbayev yesterday. He is sending you his greetings and wishes of good health and prosperity. He is expecting you at the Higher CES Council on May 29 that will cover important issues of integration that is currently developing intensely," Kazakhstan Prime-Minister Serik Akhmetov said at the meeting with Lukashenko in Minsk. Speaking of the economic cooperation between the two countries, Akhmetov noted that the commodities turnover of $1 billion reached last year was not the limit. "We have a huge potential and we have to at least double the turnover in the nearest years. Our turnover with Belarus is different from all others as we trade industrial and agricultural goods, i.e. exactly what we need from Belarus. We will have to establish joint companies almost in all sectors of the economy. We are already part of a common market and we have a big advantage of having China for a neighbor. Its market is open for all types of commodities," Akhmetov said. By Maksim Popov
