Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev has congratulated his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on the successful completion of the 22th Winter Olympics 2014 in the telephone conversation, Tengrinews reports citing the press-service of the Kremlin. The phone call was made on the initiative of Kazakhstan, the press-release says. Nursultan Nazarbayev complimented Vladimir Putin on the level of organisation of the Sochi Olympic Games and the achievements of Russian athletes. Besides, the two leaders discussed the difficult situation in Ukraine. The 22th Winter Olympic Games, held in Sochi, finished on February 23, 2014. Russia is the leader of the Games by the medal count with 13 gold, 11 silver and 9 bronze medals. Norway is in the 2nd place with 11 gold, 5 silver and 10 bronze models closely followed by Canada with 10 gold, 10 silver and 5 bronze medals. Kazakhstan is in the 26th place in the general ranking of the Sochi Olympics 2014 with one bronze medal won by figure-skater Denis Ten.
