The local ecosystem and the country's economy in general will benefit from construction of Kok-Zhailyau ski resort in Almaty, provided that it is approached and performed properly, Kapital.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Minister of Environmental Protection Nurlan Kapparov as sayingat the meeting with Almaty Akim (Mayor) Akhmetzhan Yessimov. Not everyone understands the project yet, Kapparov said. “That’s why you have to explain the project you are working on. I think that it will be a high-quality project that complies with international standards,” the Minister said. “High-quality infrastructure will be created. People will be able to walk and ski over there. Besides, this is a good opportunity for Almaty to develop a new industry,” Kapparov added.
