Jordan’s King Abdullah II has been invited to the 5th Congress of World and Traditional Religions in Astana, Tengrinews reports citing the press office of the Kazakh Senate.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Speaker of the Senate, passed President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s invitation to King Abdullah II. The Congress of World and Traditional Religions will take place from June 10 to 11 in Astana.
During his official visit to Amman, Tokayev stressed that Kazakhstan shared Jordan’s view on developing relations between various religions and religious denominations outlined in the Amman Message. The Amman Message stresses the importance of a dialogue between representatives of various religions as well as presents Islam as a peace loving religion.
“This particular idea is very close to Kazakhstan. We believe that Islam along with other religions has a great potential for enhancing security and mutual cooperation in the international community,” Tokayev said.
