Before the end of 2013 Kazakhstan plans to simplify procedures for foreign labor hired by individuals, Serik Sainov, Head of the Migration Police Department, told in an online conference arranged by Tengrinews.kz. “The Parliament is considering a draft law prepared by the Interior Ministry to simplify registration procedures for foreign labor force hired by Kazakhstan’s individuals. When the law comes into force, it will be sufficient to sign a work contract with a foreign citizen and the latter will obtain a work permit from the migration police station. The maximum period for such labor force to stay in Kazakhstan shall be one year. The simplification is expected to come into force before the end of the year”, Mr. Sainov said. Earlier Talgat Mussabekov, an analyst with the Agency for Return on Investments, said that the inflow of foreign labor force is not expected to grow. He believes a greater number of migrants from neighboring countries may only be caused by sudden worsening of the economic condition in those countries.
