Kazakhstan ranked 74th in where-to-be-born index for 2013

Kazakhstan was ranked 74th in the where-to-be-born index for 2013, The Economist writes citing The Economist Intelligence Unit. The rating includes 80 countries. It was made based on factors like the country's GDP, average life expectancy, political freedom, employment and gender equality. The experts also considered the feelings of the countries' residents and their satisfaction with life. As a result, Switzerland was elected the 2013's best country to be born in. This country is able to provide the best conditions for giving birth to children and raising them in 2013. The top five countries to be born in also include Australia (2nd place), Norway (3rd place), Sweden (4th place) and Denmark (5th place). They are followed by Singapore, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Canada and Hong Kong. The U.S. share the 16th place with Germany. The U.S. used to be the leader of the index in 1988. Russia is ranked 72nd, ahead of Syria (73rd) and Kazakhstan (74th). Ukraine was rated 78th. Last position in the index (80th) was given to Nigeria.
