Head of the National Security Committee’s Border Guard Academy Major General Talgat Essetov has been found dead in his office, a Tengrinews.kz journalist reports. The incident took place January 31 at 20:00 local time. The cause of the death was a bullet injury. The Major General supposedly committed suicide. Press Service of the National Security Committee suggested it was a suicide. The investigation is under way. From 1986 Talgat Essetov served as vice head and head of the national border guard service, vice commandant of the Border Command Post. From 1995 he served as vice Chief of Staff and Chief of Staff of Zharkent border guard detachment. From 1997 he was Chief of Staff of Makanchin border guard detachment. From 1998 he served as Chief of Staff of Usharal border guard detachment. From 2002 he headed the Soltustik regional command of the border service under the National Security Committee. Before March 2009 he was head of the Ontustik regional command of the border service under the National Security Committee, them he was appointed head of the National Security Committee’s Border Guard Academy.
