Tengrinews.kz – Summer 2026 promises to be eventful for Kazakh travelers. Starting from late May and throughout summer 2026, several new flights are being launched in Kazakhstan from Almaty and Astana to Warsaw, Izmir and Larnaca.
From May 31, 2026, LOT Polish Airlines launched regular flights on the Almaty–Warsaw route.
“The new flight is planned to operate four times a week in summer and three times a week during the winter period. It should be noted that LOT already operates regular flights between Warsaw and Astana. The launch of the new route to Almaty will be another important step in expanding transport connectivity between Kazakhstan and Poland,” Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Yerlan Zhetybayev said at a briefing.
From July 31, 2026, SunExpress will launch direct flights on the Izmir–Almaty–Izmir route. Flights will operate twice a week and continue until the end of October 2026.
In addition, from June 2, 2026, Kazakhstan’s Air Astana will launch direct flights on the Astana–Larnaca route. Flights will operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Then, from June 4, 2026, another route will be launched: Almaty–Larnaca. Flights will also operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.
Kazakh citizens need a visa to travel to Cyprus.
By the way, direct flights from Astana to London, Paris, Rome and Vienna may be launched in 2027. Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov issued the relevant instruction at a government meeting.
