Tengrinews.kz — The Civil Aviation Committee has announced which destinations are planned to be opened or resumed in 2026. The route network is expected to expand, with new flights connecting Kazakhstan to a number of popular international destinations, Tengri Travel reports.
New flights for summer 2026: where Kazakhstanis will fly
Cyprus, China, Georgia and more: which routes are opening
According to the committee, the following routes are planned to be added by summer:
- Larnaca (Cyprus);
- Guangzhou (China);
- Batumi (Georgia);
- Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia);
- Sochi (Russia);
- Baku (Azerbaijan).
Seasonal flights will also be resumed to:
- Samarkand (Uzbekistan);
- Osh (Kyrgyzstan);
- Issyk-Kul (Kyrgyzstan);
- Frankfurt (Germany);
- Ufa (Russia);
- Kazan (Russia).
Already flying: 9 new routes launched in 2026
According to the committee, since the beginning of 2026, international routes have been opened in 9 directions:
- Almaty – Shanghai (China);
- Uralsk – Tashkent (Uzbekistan);
- Atyrau – Tashkent;
- Astana – Yerevan (Armenia);
- Kostanay – Moscow (Russia);
- Aktau – Moscow (Russia);
- Karaganda – Novosibirsk (Russia);
- Shymkent – Tyumen (Russia);
- Aktau – Yerevan.
Warsaw, Prague, Hanoi: routes to be launched by the end of the year
The agency also named several routes planned for launch later this year.
“At the same time, a number of new international routes are planned to be opened this year, including Almaty – Warsaw, Hanoi – Almaty – Prague, Astana – Larnaca, Almaty – Larnaca, Astana – Ulaanbaatar, Shymkent – Baku and others,” the committee said.
In addition, it is planned to increase the frequency of flights on existing routes to China, Russia, Turkey and Uzbekistan.
Balkhash, Urjar, Usharal: subsidized flights to domestic resorts
The committee added that by summer, domestic airlines will begin operating seasonal subsidized flights to Kazakhstan’s resort areas:
- Almaty – Balkhash;
- Astana – Urjar;
- Astana – Usharal;
- Almaty – Urjar;
- Almaty – Usharal;
- Astana – Balkhash.
According to the committee, Kazakhstan currently operates international flights to 25 countries across 113 routes. The most popular destinations among Kazakhstanis include Turkey, the UAE, Uzbekistan, China, Russia, Qatar, South Korea, Egypt, Vietnam, and Georgia.
