Tengrinews.kz – The ticket sale for Jennifer Lopez’s concerts in Almaty and Astana turned into a major challenge for her fans.
Recently, Kazakhstani fans were excited by news of a second show in Almaty. Social media users immediately reacted: some joked that residents of Astana might resell their tickets, while others saw the concert as a great boost for domestic tourism.
Ticket sales in Almaty
Sales officially began at 10 a.m. on May 28. Checking the site early, there were already about 1,400 people waiting in the virtual queue at 9:50 a.m.
This time, organizers introduced an electronic queue displaying the number of waiting users. Access to the site was possible around 9:58 a.m., but the sale had not yet started, and users were redirected back to the queue.
While waiting, users could view ticket prices. The most expensive tickets were in the VIP Standing section - 180,000 tenge plus service fees. The cheapest tickets were around 40,000 tenge.
At about 10:06, our turn came, and we entered the site. Tickets were available separately for seated places and standing zones such as the fan zone, Dance Floor, and VIP Standing.
We found tickets priced at 40,000 tenge.
A colleague accessed the site about 30 minutes later and saw a much different availability status.
The queue moved quickly. At 11:28 a.m., we checked again and noticed that only a few tickets remained.
For example, a spot priced at 88,000 tenge was still available.
Based on sales pace, tickets were expected to be sold out by 1 p.m.
The company’s website outlines concert attendance rules. Purchasers are limited to a maximum of 10 tickets per person. All tickets are non-refundable. Upon purchase, buyers receive a voucher confirming their right to attend. From August 6 until the event date, an electronic ticket with a QR code will be sent.
Event entry will open on August 10 at 3 p.m. Attendees are advised to arrive early to allow time for security checks and to avoid congestion at the entrance.
The day before, it was confirmed that the concert would be held at the Central Stadium. Due to high public interest and the event’s international significance, the Kazakhstan Premier League match between Kairat and Zhenis was postponed to September 21.
Recall that on May 21, news broke that Jennifer Lopez would perform a solo concert in Almaty as part of her global Up All Night tour. The concert is scheduled for August 10.
Jennifer Lopez will also perform in Astana on August 1. She will arrive from Abu Dhabi as part of her world tour Up All Night. The Astana concert will take place at Astana Arena.
