Tengrinews.kz - The water level in the Shelek River near the village of Malybai in the Almaty region has risen due to the discharge from the Bartogay reservoir, citing Kazhydromet.
According to meteorologists, as of 12:00 p.m., May 4, the water level stands at 158 centimeters. The dangerous threshold is 186 centimeters.
"If the discharge volume increases in the near future, the water level may rise above the danger mark, causing the river to overflow and flood nearby areas," Kazhydromet warned.
A day earlier, reports circulated on social media about a crack forming in the dam of the Bartogay reservoir.
