Tengrinews.kz - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the second Central Asia – China summit, according to Akorda.
During his speech, the Head of State reaffirmed Kazakhstan's consistent policy aimed at actively attracting Chinese investment.
“Kazakhstan is working on identifying new growth drivers in the economy. Particular attention is being paid to launching joint ventures with China, expanding the range of goods, and increasing the export of products that are in demand on the Chinese market. We have high hopes for the creation of high-tech industries of the fourth processing stage, which produce goods with high added value. We consider cooperation in agriculture extremely important, including the implementation of advanced agricultural technologies and efficient water-saving solutions. We count on the participation of Chinese companies in localizing production in the agro-industrial sector. A new boost to economic cooperation between our countries is expected to come from the Khorgos International Center for Border Cooperation,” said Tokayev.
As a reminder, at the invitation of President Tokayev, President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China arrived in Astana for a two-day state visit.
During the visit, a bilateral high-level meeting is planned, where the parties will discuss ways to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China.
