Tengrinews.kz - Following the talks between President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Astana, 24 intergovernmental and interagency documents were signed, citing the Akorda press service.

On June 16, the leaders of the two countries held negotiations. As President Tokayev emphasized, the President of China is always a highly respected guest on Kazakh soil, and his visit serves as a vivid symbol of the sincere and unwavering friendship between the two nations.

As a result of the talks held at the Akorda, members of the two delegations exchanged documents covering cooperation in the fields of energy, aerospace, digitalization, customs regulation, agriculture, e-commerce, tourism, intellectual property, healthcare, media, science, and interregional communications.

In addition, intergovernmental agreements were signed on the promotion and mutual protection of investments, as well as on technical and economic cooperation.

President Tokayev particularly noted the symbolic nature of Xi Jinping's visit to Kazakhstan, as it coincided with his birthday, and wished him good health, prosperity, and further success in his public service.

Xi Jinping expressed his gratitude to the President of Kazakhstan for the warm welcome on Kazakh soil. He noted that under Tokayev's leadership, Kazakhstan has embarked on a path of national renewal and continues to achieve new milestones in its development.

As a reminder, President Xi Jinping arrived in Kazakhstan for a two-day visit at the invitation of President Tokayev.

On June 17, Astana will host the second “Central Asia – China” summit, with the participation of heads of state from across the region.
