Tengrinews.kz – Committee on legal statistics and special accounts of the General Prosecutor's office published data on thefts for 11 months of the current year.
According to the department, the largest number of thefts were registered in Almaty (6 675) and Astana (3 727), the smallest number in Mangistau region (396) and Ulytau region (298).
Moreover, the most stolen phones are in Almaty - 1 989 and Astana - 669, less in the Ulytau region - 54.
More cases of cattle theft were recorded in the Almaty region - 194, in the Abay region - 126, in the Turkestan region - 114 and in the Zhetisu region - 97.
Overall, the committee notes a 28.1% decrease in the number of thefts in the country - from 40 458 to 29 089. A 46.1% decrease in the number of vehicle thefts - from 256 to 138, and a 33.7% decrease in apartment thefts - from 3 398 to 2,252. Cell phone thefts have decreased by 31.2% (from 10 051 to 6 919). There is also a trend towards a 30.3% decrease in cattle thefts - from 1 432 to 998.
