Tengrinews.kz - An Air Astana aircraft operating flight KC 162 from Phu Quoc to Almaty was forced to return to the departure airport due to an unusual technical malfunction - all lavatories on board stopped working.
According to the airline, the aircraft departed Phu Quoc on 26 December at 10:04 AM local time. After the malfunction was detected, the crew decided to turn back. The plane landed safely at the departure airport at 2:14 PM, and there was no threat to the safety of passengers or crew members.
“Flight KC 162 Phu Quoc - Almaty returned to the departure airport for technical reasons. Work is currently under way to fix the malfunction,” the airline’s press service reported.
According to the company, the flight’s departure was rescheduled to 27 December at 04:00 AM local time. Passengers were provided with hot meals and drinks, and arrangements began for their transfer and accommodation in hotels.
“The airline is handling the transfer and hotel accommodation of passengers,” the carrier’s press service clarified.
The airline also apologized to passengers for the inconvenience caused.
