In Pavlodar itself, the city's central embankment bore the brunt of the storm. The hail caught football fans by surprise as they gathered to watch a World Cup match.

According to eyewitnesses, it began with light rain. Fans continued to follow the game until wind gusts suddenly intensified, a thunderstorm broke out, and hail began to pour from the sky. Panic ensued as people scrambled for cover.
The regional ambulance service reported that the storm resulted in several injuries.

In Pavlodar, a 33-year-old man sustained a head injury from a falling tree branch. The patient was taken to the hospital, where he was moved to outpatient care after receiving first aid.
In the village of Kudaykol, an ambulance crew responded to local residents caught in the heavy hail. A 19-year-old woman, a 47-year-old man, and a 15-year-old student suffered abrasions and bruised arms. Two other 16-year-old teenagers were diagnosed with multiple minor bruises to their arms and backs.
Residents have been active on social media sharing photos and videos of the aftermath. Squall-force winds snapped tree branches, and many reported power outages.

Homeowners and gardeners report that the storm has devastated upcoming harvests, with the village of Kalkaman hit the hardest.
"The hail was slamming into the windows and roofs; there was just a wall of water and ice. Everything in our garden was destroyed. It’s the same for almost everyone in the village," local residents shared.

The weather began to intensify as early as the afternoon of July 19, when hail and squalls swept through the Bayanaul District and the beach area of the Sunny (Solnechny) settlement.

The Pavlodar regional administration's press service stated that local authorities are currently gathering operational data, managing cleanup efforts, and assessing the damage. A full report is expected later.
