Tengrinews.kz - On June 4, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the national flag-raising ceremony in Astana.
President Tokayev noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the Constitution – one of the strong foundations of Kazakhstan’s statehood.
“The Constitution contains the main principles on which our society is built. Guided by the spirit of the Constitution, we uphold the rule of law and order and implement large-scale reforms step by step. Each of us contributes to the steady progress of Kazakhstan. We are united by our turquoise passport, common aspirations, and unwavering belief in the creative power of reform. A Kazakh proverb says: ‘Those united under one flag share the same spirit, and those walking one road share one destiny.’ Under the sky-blue flag of our country, representatives of different ethnic groups live in peace and harmony. We have one path, one goal – to build a Just, Safe, and Clean Kazakhstan. Only by preserving and strengthening our unity can we achieve new accomplishments,” Tokayev said.
The President then addressed the graduates of military academies, who traditionally receive their officer epaulets on the Day of State Symbols.
“It has become a good tradition to present officer epaulets to the best cadets under our sky-blue flag, which inspires and strengthens the patriotic spirit of our warriors. In such moments, every citizen deeply realizes that serving their native country is a sacred duty, and that they are the descendants of brave batyrs (warriors) who valiantly defended our Motherland. The servicemen guarding the state’s borders continue the proud traditions of our courageous ancestors. I am confident that you will always hold the sacred flag of our country high. May our sky-blue banner fly proudly! Peace and prosperity to our Motherland,” the President said.
The ceremony was attended by heads of government agencies, members of Parliament, members of the National Kurultai, recipients of the titles “Khalyk Kaharmany” (“Hero of the People”) and “Qazaqstannyn Enbek Eri” (“Kazakhstan’s Hero of Labor”), cadets of higher military educational institutions, and their family members.
