Tengrinews.kz - Mazhilis deputy, Kenzhegul Seitzhan, has proposed establishing a new public holiday in Kazakhstan.
Kenzhegul Seitzhan addressed a parliamentary inquiry to Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, suggesting that June 1 — International Children's Day — be given the official status of a national holiday.
"Children are a strategic resource and the foundation of the country's future. Creating conditions for their safe, healthy, and well-rounded development should be a top priority of state policy. In this context, celebrating Children’s Day at the national level takes on special importance," Seitzhan said.
The deputy also proposed introducing new regulations for public holidays in Kazakhstan, though specific details have yet to be outlined.
