Tengrinews.kz – Starting in May 2025, Kazakhstan will launch new flights to ten foreign countries.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Transport, new direct routes will be operated to the following countries: Hungary, Germany, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, China, South Korea, and Vietnam.
New routes are being launched
Qazaq Air began operating a new route on May 1: Astana – Turkistan – Samarkand (Uzbekistan). Flights are scheduled twice a week.
On May 5, Uzbek airline My Freighter (Centrum Air) launched the Almaty – Tashkent route, also with two weekly flights.
SCAT Airlines will launch four new routes from Shymkent in May:
Starting May 27:
- Shymkent – Budapest (Hungary) – 2 flights/week;
- Shymkent – Munich (Germany) – 2 flights/week.
Starting May 29:
- Shymkent – Shanghai (China) – 2 flights/week;
- Shymkent – Seoul (South Korea) – 2 flights/week.
Air Astana is also expanding its network:
- From May 14: Astana – Da Nang (Vietnam), 2 flights/week;
- From May 27: Atyrau – Tbilisi (Georgia), 3 flights/week;
- From May 28: Almaty – Osh (Kyrgyzstan), 4 flights/week;
- From May 31: Atyrau – Baku (Azerbaijan), 3 flights/week.
Fly Arystan will add two new routes:
- From May 18: Almaty – Kulja (China), 2 flights/week;
- From May 28: Astana – Gazipaşa (Turkey), 2 flights/week.
Gazipasa is the nearest airport to Alanya, a popular Mediterranean resort.
In addition, Azerbaijan Airlines will increase the frequency of flights on the Astana – Baku route from 3 to 4 times per week starting May 13.

It’s also worth noting that from June 1, 2025, a new international airline will begin operating in Kazakhstan – Air Arabia Abu Dhabi. The airline plans to launch regular direct flights on the Abu Dhabi – Almaty route. Flights will be operated three times a week – on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, using Airbus A320 aircraft.
