Tengrinews.kz - New limits of the deviation between the buying and selling exchange rates at currency exchange points will be set in Kazakhstan.
The National Bank has prepared a draft resolution titled "On establishing limits for deviations between the purchase and sale rates of foreign currencies against the tenge for transactions conducted through exchange offices." According to the draft, it is proposed to set the deviation limits for cash foreign currency transactions at 7 tenge for the US dollar and 10 tenge for the euro.
"The proposed changes are primarily aimed at reducing speculative activities in the currency market and covering the risks of financial market participants. These restrictions will not apply to non-cash exchange transactions," the statement said.
Previously, the limits for deviations between purchase and sale rates were 15 tenge for the dollar and 20 tenge for the euro.
