Tengrinews.kz - A major fire has erupted in a residential complex in Astana, prompting residents to evacuate on their own.
Firefighters are currently battling the blaze at the complex located on Tauelsizdik Street in the Sarayshyk district of the city.
"Preliminary reports indicate the fire started in a cable shaft between the 5th and 12th floors," the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
Residents evacuated the building on their own. No injuries have been reported so far.
Fire crews are working at the scene under an elevated response level.
Earlier, on June 2, a grass fire occurred in the Atbasar district of the Akmola region.
