Tengrinews.kz - Court No. 2 of Aktobe heard a criminal case against a Kazakh citizen who had advertised his kidney for sale. He was charged with attempting to carry out an illegal transaction involving human organs and tissues, citing the court’s press service.
In April of this year, the defendant posted an ad on social media offering to sell his kidney. A woman from Aktobe responded to the post. The man valued his organ at 20 million tenge and agreed to travel to the city for a medical examination. After the examinations, he was detained while receiving an advance payment of 7.5 million tenge.
The man fully admitted his guilt and petitioned to have the case dropped under an amnesty act. The prosecutor supported granting the petition. Based on the law “On Amnesty in Connection with the 30th Anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” the court released him from criminal liability and closed the case.
In September 2024, another man attempted to sell his organs in Aktobe.
