Tengrinews.kz – Heavy rainfall in Aktau affected the local airport, with footage shared on social media showing large puddles forming inside the terminal and water leaking from the ceiling into the waiting area.

The Aktau Airport press service confirmed the incident and explained the cause.

“The situation is temporary and occurred due to heavy rainfall during scheduled maintenance work in preparation for the winter season. All necessary technical servicing and system checks are being carried out as planned,” the airport stated.

According to airport representatives, the response teams acted promptly:

“The water was removed quickly, the premises were cleaned, and the waiting area resumed normal operations,” the press service added.

It was also noted that seasonal infrastructure preparation had begun in advance and continues according to schedule:

“Special attention is being given to the roof, drainage systems, and heating. We thank passengers for their understanding and apologize for any temporary inconvenience. The airport continues to operate normally, ensuring safety and comfort,” the statement emphasized.

Currently, the airport is operating without restrictions, and flights are proceeding on schedule.
