Tengrinews.kz – Almaty airport has issued an announcement to passengers due to heavy snowfall and possible flight delays.
The airport’s press service noted that because of heavy snowfall and low visibility, some flights are being rescheduled to a later time.
“To ensure flight safety, continuous snow removal is being carried out on runways, taxiways, and aprons, and aircraft are undergoing de-icing procedures,” the airport reported.
All decisions regarding departures and arrivals, the airport emphasized, are made taking into account current weather conditions and flight safety requirements.
Passengers are advised to check up-to-date information with their airlines in advance and monitor the flight schedule on the airport’s official website.
“We ask for your understanding regarding temporary changes in the schedule and to consider possible adjustments related to weather conditions,” the press service added.
Meanwhile, several flights at Almaty airport are already experiencing delays. According to the online departure board, disruptions have affected both arriving and departing aircraft.
